Creatives around the world, famous and otherwise were invited to submit a record cover design of which 700 were chosen to be pressed into unique 7” singles. Each was sold through a charity auction after being exhibited at the Now gallery in Greenwich. Out of 3000 entries one of my sleeve designs was chosen, Blind Willie McTell by Bob Dylan.
My design gained 37 bids and sold for just over £100.00. The auction raised around £134k for Help Refugees.
Over the years artwork has been submitted by Sir Peter Blake, Yoko Ono, Sir Paul Smith and Jake and Dinos Chapman. The singles appeal to both music fans and record collectors and art aficionados. The 2020 tracks were from Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters, Koffee, Miles Davis, The Internet and Vampire Weekend.
